Neoregelia Hansen mini

Neoregelia ‘Hansen Mini’ is a miniature bromeliad cultivar from the Neoregelia genus, originally derived from epiphytic bromeliads native to tropical forests of Brazil. It is a horticultural selection bred specifically for its very compact size and strong ornamental value in small-scale tropical displays.

Origin

Like most cultivated Neoregelia, ‘Hansen Mini’ is not a wild species but a selected hybrid or cultivar originating from Brazilian rainforest bromeliads adapted to warm, humid, epiphytic environments.

Cultivation

It thrives in bright indirect light to maintain coloration and compact growth. High humidity is strongly recommended, making it ideal for terrariums or controlled tropical setups. It can be grown in a well-draining potting mix or mounted on wood or cork. Water is typically kept in the central rosette, but should be refreshed regularly to avoid stagnation.

Mature size

At maturity, Neoregelia ‘Hansen Mini’ remains very small, typically reaching about 8 to 15 cm in diameter. This extremely compact growth habit makes it particularly suitable for miniature terrariums, small compositions, and dense tropical plant arrangements.
