Coleus – colourful tropical foliage plants

Coleus are tropical plants admired for their spectacular foliage: red, pink, purple, green, yellow or almost black. Each variety brings instant colour to a plant collection, greenhouse or open terrarium.

Easy to grow and fast-growing, they enjoy bright indirect light, gentle warmth and a light substrate kept slightly moist. Their foliage becomes denser with regular pinching, and cuttings root very easily.

Coleus are particularly suitable for open, well-ventilated terrariums, airy paludariums, greenhouses, conservatories and bright indoor spaces. They are less suited to very humid closed terrariums, where insufficient airflow can affect the foliage.
