Hoya

Hoya, often known as wax plants or porcelain flowers, are tropical climbing, trailing or epiphytic plants highly appreciated for their decorative foliage and spectacular star-shaped flowers. Native mainly to tropical and subtropical Asia, Hoya species offer an impressive diversity of leaf shapes, textures and colours.

Easy to integrate into a tropical plant collection, Hoya can be grown on supports, branches, cork, moss poles or in hanging baskets. Some species are also very well suited to well-ventilated tropical terrariums, open paludariums and warm greenhouses.

Depending on the species, the foliage may be thick, glossy, textured, veined, variegated or almost succulent in appearance. Under suitable growing conditions and good light levels, many Hoya produce beautiful clusters of waxy, star-shaped flowers, often delicately scented.

At JungleBox, we select a range of Hoya species and varieties suitable for tropical cultivation, both for collectors and for enthusiasts looking to create lush indoor displays or natural planted tropical environments.
