Neoregelia ‘Zeus’ is a tropical hybrid bromeliad from the Neoregelia genus, originating from cultivated selections of Brazilian rainforest bromeliads native to Brazil. It is a horticultural cultivar developed for its strong ornamental foliage and compact architectural form.
‘Zeus’ is not a naturally occurring species but a selected hybrid bred from Neoregelia lines valued for color intensity and structural foliage. It belongs to the wide group of cultivated bromeliads derived from tropical epiphytes of South American rainforests.
This cultivar is known for its dynamic coloration. The foliage is typically deep green under moderate light, but under strong brightness it develops vivid red to orange tones with pronounced striping. This strong color response makes the plant highly decorative and visually changing over time. The central rosette can also intensify in color, creating a strong focal point typical of Neoregelia hybrids.
Neoregelia ‘Zeus’ thrives in bright indirect light, high humidity, and good air circulation. It can be grown in a well-draining substrate or mounted epiphytically. Water is held in the central cup of the rosette and should be refreshed regularly to maintain plant health.
At maturity, it remains compact, typically reaching around 15–25 cm in height and width, making it suitable for terrariums, tropical displays, and small to medium collector setups.
