Ficus sagittata 'Variegata' is a tropical climbing or trailing plant prized for its small to medium, leathery, arrow-shaped leaves adorned with irregular cream and pale yellow variegation. Native to Africa at the species level, this cultivar requires bright, indirect light to maintain its coloration, as reduced chlorophyll makes it more light-demanding than the green form. It thrives in warm conditions (18–26 °C / 65–79 °F) with humidity above 60% and prefers a well-draining, aerated substrate composed of coco fiber or peat, fine bark, perlite or pumice, and charcoal. The soil should remain slightly moist but never waterlogged, allowing the top layer to dry between waterings to prevent root rot. It can be trained to climb on a moss pole or allowed to cascade, and it responds well to pruning and propagation through stem cuttings with a node.
