Description

EHEIM compactON 600 is a compact, quiet and efficient pump ideal for creating water circulation, powering a small waterfall, decorative stream or aquatic area in a paludarium or tropical terrarium.

Uses

The EHEIM compactON 600 is designed for submerged operation. Its compact size makes it easy to install in a water reservoir, technical compartment or beneath the decorative structure of a paludarium.

Please note that actual flow decreases as the vertical lifting height increases. When the installation approaches the maximum delivery head, the flow available at the waterfall outlet will therefore be significantly lower than the maximum 600 L/h rating.

Hose connection

The hose diameter, length and number of bends directly affect the final water flow. Avoid unnecessary hose length, tight bends and strong reductions in diameter whenever possible.

Waterfall installation

For use in a terrarium or paludarium, install the pump in a water reservoir deep enough to keep it permanently submerged.

Run the outlet hose to the top of the waterfall and conceal it behind cork, rocks, roots or an artificial background.

Always provide easy access to the pump so that it can be removed and cleaned without dismantling the entire decorative structure.

Quiet operation

The EHEIM compactON range is designed for compact and quiet operation. Correct installation, without the pump vibrating directly against glass or another rigid surface, helps keep operating noise to a minimum.

Maintenance

Clean the pump regularly to remove deposits, plant debris, substrate particles and algae that could gradually reduce the flow rate.

In a planted paludarium or terrarium, regularly inspect the pump intake, as moss fragments, dead leaves and organic debris can partially block the inlet.

Recommended protection

For waterfall and paludarium use, JungleBox recommends protecting the pump intake with a suitable filter sponge. This helps prevent plant debris from entering the pump and makes maintenance easier.

The compactON 600 has a maximum delivery head of approximately 1 metre, so it is best suited to low- to medium-height waterfalls. For installations approaching 1 metre in height, or those using long hoses and multiple bends, choose a pump with a higher delivery head to maintain a satisfactory flow at the outlet.
