The Dried Pods & Shells Set – Small & Medium Terrariums brings together five carefully selected natural botanical elements designed to enrich tropical, bioactive and naturalistic terrariums of small to medium size.
This combination of shapes, textures and natural cavities quickly creates a richer and more realistic environment while providing additional exploration areas and micro-shelters for terrarium microfauna.
This set has been designed to provide several different shapes, sizes and textures within a single terrarium. The lotus pods offer a highly graphic honeycomb-like surface, while the Sapucaia pod and Badam nut shell provide deeper, more enclosed natural forms.
Together, these elements create a varied forest-floor appearance without the need to select several individual botanical products separately.
The different elements have been selected to suit small and medium-sized terrariums. They add visual depth and structure without taking up excessive space inside the enclosure.
The pieces can be distributed throughout the foreground, positioned around roots, placed between stones or installed underneath plants to create a more natural and structured layout.
The natural cavities found in the pods and shells create numerous micro-shelters for small terrarium organisms.
Springtails, isopods and other detritivores can use these areas for shelter, exploration and foraging.
These dried botanical elements are naturally biodegradable. In humid conditions, they gradually break down and contribute organic matter to the substrate.
They are therefore an excellent addition to dried leaves, mosses, bark and other natural materials used in bioactive terrariums.
Simply place the different elements on the substrate or partially incorporate them into the leaf litter. An irregular arrangement will produce a much more natural appearance than positioning the pieces symmetrically.
Each botanical element is unique. Shape, colour, dimensions and texture may vary slightly from one piece to another.
These variations are completely normal and are part of the natural character of the set.
This set provides a simple way to immediately enrich a terrarium with several complementary natural elements. It adds more detail to the enclosure, increases the diversity of available microhabitats and improves the overall appearance of the forest-floor litter.
It is particularly suitable for bioactive terrariums housing dart frogs, small reptiles, invertebrates, isopods or springtails.
Combine this set with Catappa leaves, mosses, small branches and bark pieces to create a complete natural forest-floor layer. Position the larger elements towards the back or around roots, then distribute the mini lotus pods in the foreground to increase the visual depth of the enclosure.
