Wittmackia superba is a bromeliad native to Brazil, more specifically to the humid tropical forests of the Atlantic Forest, where it naturally grows as an epiphyte on trees or occasionally as a lithophyte on rocks, in warm, bright and very humid environments, often at mid elevations. It is distinguished by its broad, leathery foliage arranged in a rosette, with dark green tones often marbled with lighter patterns and accented by fuchsia tips at the ends of the leaves, giving the plant a highly graphic and architectural appearance. This species is particularly valued by collectors for its slow growth and majestic habit, as well as for its ability to adapt to cultivation in pots, greenhouses or tropical terrariums, provided it is given bright light, high humidity and a perfectly draining substrate.
