Origin

Hoya australis is native to Australia and several tropical regions of the Pacific and Southeast Asia. The cultivar ‘Lisa’ is a horticultural selection valued for its highly variegated foliage and colorful young leaves.

Foliage

The leaves are thick, oval to slightly rounded and display striking variegation. The center of the leaf may show cream, pale yellow and light green tones surrounded by deeper green margins. New leaves can also emerge pink, coppery or reddish before gradually developing their mature coloration.

Flowering

Hoya australis ‘Lisa’ can produce clusters of star-shaped flowers arranged in rounded umbels. The flowers are generally white to cream with a contrasting center and may release a sweet, pleasant fragrance once the plant is well established.

Growth

This variety has a climbing growth habit and develops long, flexible stems. It can be trained on a hoop, trellis or support, or grown in a hanging basket for a more cascading appearance.
