Origin

The species currently accepted under the name Pilea multiflora is native to western South America. Its natural range mainly includes Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.

It primarily grows in the humid tropical biome. In Colombia, the species is notably recorded in Andean regions between approximately 700 and 3,000 metres elevation, where it benefits from humid air, filtered light and relatively mild temperatures.

Foliage

The foliage of Pilea ‘Greyzy’ consists of numerous small round to oval leaves, generally grey-green, blue-green or silvery green. Their slightly matte surface may show a delicately powdered appearance that enhances the silver tones.
