Neoregelia concentrica var. ‘Big Green’ is a highly sought-after and relatively rare collector bromeliad from the Neoregelia genus, native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil. It is valued in specialist collections for its strong architectural presence and exceptional ornamental quality.
This variety is considered uncommon in cultivation, primarily due to its selective propagation and limited availability among specialist growers. It is especially appreciated by bromeliad collectors for its bold structure and refined, uniform coloration, which makes it stand out even among other large Neoregelia.
‘Big Green’ forms a large, perfectly structured rosette with broad, deep green leaves that are uniform, glossy, and highly sculptural. Its visual power lies in its simplicity: a clean, intense green that highlights the perfect geometry of the plant. Under strong light, the rosette takes on a striking architectural presence, making it a true focal point in any tropical collection.
It thrives in bright indirect light, high humidity, and good air circulation. It can be grown in a pot with a very well-draining substrate or mounted epiphytically. As with other Neoregelia, the central cup should contain fresh water that is regularly renewed to prevent stagnation.
At maturity, it reaches approximately 40 to 60 cm in diameter, giving it a strong structural impact and making it ideal for greenhouse displays, large terrarium installations, and high-end plant collections.
