Monstera 'Frozen Freckles' is a spectacular collector climbing aroid instantly recognisable by its green foliage covered with countless cream to off-white speckles. Every leaf develops a different pattern, as though dusted with tiny frozen freckles.
Supplied in a Ø 12 cm pot, this Monstera already offers good volume while remaining easy to establish on a root, climbing pole or vertical background. Its climbing habit and perforated foliage make it particularly attractive for large tropical terrariums, paludariums and jungle displays.

Monstera 'Frozen Freckles'
'Frozen Freckles' is a modern horticultural cultivar developed for its distinctive cream-speckled foliage.
It is commonly associated with the Monstera adansonii / laniata group. To avoid overstating its precise botanical parentage, JungleBox retains the horticultural name Monstera 'Frozen Freckles'.
Ø 12 cm
The leaves are green, oval to elongated and covered with numerous cream to off-white flecks and splashes.
As the plant matures, the foliage develops characteristic perforations, creating an exceptionally graphic and light appearance.
Unlike Monsteras with large white sectors, 'Frozen Freckles' displays much finer variegation consisting of small speckles, splashes and creamy marbling distributed across the entire leaf blade.
The amount of cream naturally varies between leaves, making every new leaf unique.
Monstera 'Frozen Freckles' is naturally climbing. Its stems develop aerial roots that gradually attach to roots, trunks, cork panels and other vertical supports.
Growing vertically generally encourages stronger growth and larger, more mature and increasingly perforated foliage.
Grow the plant against a natural root, cork panel, moss-covered pole, Hygrolon or planted vertical background.
A slightly humid surface encourages aerial roots to attach and allows the plant to climb naturally.
Use a highly aerated and free-draining aroid mix containing coco chips, bark, perlite, sphagnum moss and light organic material.
The growing medium should retain light moisture without remaining permanently waterlogged.
Water when the upper layer of substrate begins to dry slightly.
Avoid stagnant water around the roots and preferably use soft or low-mineral water.
Humidity of approximately 65% to 90% is particularly suitable.
Higher humidity supports aerial root development but should always be combined with good airflow.
Ideal growing temperature: approximately 20°C to 28°C.
Avoid prolonged cold temperatures and cold draughts.
Monstera 'Frozen Freckles' prefers medium to bright filtered light.
Good lighting highlights its variegation and supports compact growth. Cream areas contain less chlorophyll and are therefore more sensitive to harsh direct sunlight.
Growth is moderate. Its strong variegation can make it slightly slower growing than a fully green Monstera.
Warmth, humidity and a vertical support encourage longer climbing stems and increasingly mature foliage.
Mature Monsteras may produce typical aroid inflorescences consisting of a spathe and spadix.
In cultivation, however, 'Frozen Freckles' is grown primarily for its spectacular variegated foliage.
Propagation can be carried out from stem cuttings containing at least one node and ideally an aerial root.
Train new growth onto its support and prune excessively long stems when necessary to keep the plant suitable for the available space.
Remove old or damaged leaves and monitor heavily variegated areas, which are naturally more delicate than green tissue.
Use a low-strength tropical plant or aroid fertiliser during active growth.
Avoid excessive feeding, particularly in terrariums or consistently moist substrates.
As though dusted with fine cream paint, every 'Frozen Freckles' leaf develops its own unique pattern. Its multitude of pale speckles gives it a much finer, more delicate appearance than traditional large-sector variegation.
Trained over a root or vertical background, it gradually combines perforated foliage, climbing growth and luminous variegation to create a striking tropical focal point.
Provide a vertical support from the beginning. A natural root or slightly humid cork panel will encourage aerial root attachment and help the plant gradually develop larger and more spectacular foliage.
Like other Araceae, Monsteras contain calcium oxalate crystals. The sap may be irritating and the plant should not be ingested.
